Samsung-A3

Galaxy A3 (2017). Please note that the front panel no longer has an LED that indicates incoming messages, incoming SMS, or missed calls. Instead, there is now a perpetual feature. Suppose you find something wrong, just the rear panel, which looks blank due to the small camera lens. By the way, nothing comes up now.

The glass case slides in the hands with the clean metal on the heads. If it is freezing outside and your hand is in gloves, you need to be very careful. Drops are unacceptable – it’s about 100% cracks or scratches on the front or back window. The biggest advantage of the A3 (2017) is its very compact size. The device is easy to hold. You can work with it with one hand while traveling, even while walking. Still, it’s a shame that there are less than 4.7-inch screen models on the market every year.

Not without the wow factor: Like the S7 and S7 Edge flagships, all Samsung A-Series 2017 smartphones are also protected under the IP68 standard. This means that dust will not get inside the case. Besides, the phones can be placed at a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Waterproof: The device can be placed at a depth of 1.5 meters for half an hour.

Another important point

A3 (2017) published support for Samsung Pay. Not in the 2016 model, although the A5 (2016) and A7 (2016) work with the payment service. The loudspeaker is cleverly located on the upper right-hand side. And you know, it’s easy! It does not descend vertically or horizontally from your fingers. However, the sound is far from ideal.

The volume is slightly above average. The audio is a bit boring due to the protective membrane. The low frequency is annoying. Like other Samsung smartphones, the fingerprint scanner is built into the mechanical home button at the bottom of the screen. The papillary pattern is quickly recognized and does not require a key to be unlocked. Sometimes the sensor is a small thing – it completely refuses to recognize fingerprints, and that’s it. It only helps to enter a PIN, password, or pattern. On the second day of the test. I got tired of it and just turned off the scanner.

Good image, low-resolution

IPS will suffice, but the AMOLED features are such that, due to the pentail effect, individual pixels can be easily distinguished with the naked eye. This is especially frustrating when reading e-books or texts from the web. And it is difficult to accurately assess the quality of the images that come after the shooting as a result of the crash – they look better on a smartphone screen than on a computer monitor.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Not enough The Eternal feature moved from the flagship A3 and other A-Series models in 2017. This is when the clock or calendar appears in sleep mode, as well as notifications for missed calls and messages. According to various estimates, this function consumes 1.5 to 3% of a smartphone’s charge per hour. In a day, we get from minus 20 to minus 35% of the battery. Therefore, it is better not to be active at all.

There is a night mode. With the name “blue color filter,” it is easy to guess that it removes the color of the blue color and makes the eyes less tired in the dark. There are also four-color profiles to choose from and the ability to adjust the color balance of the screen manually. An option to display information on the screen of a locked smartphone in XI on the mode

Game on low and medium settings

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) is not designed for mobile gaming. Ion Core Exynos 7870 1.6 GHz and 2 GB RAM (which uses more than half the system) is not enough for serious mobile entertainment. For example, when playing in high (and sometimes even medium) graphics configurations in demanding games like World of Tanks Blitz and Euclid, the frame drop often happens – the image gets faster. Therefore, for serious projects, it is better to choose the least. Of course, there will be no problem with chance games or simple puzzles. But the case is not practically hot, and performance does not decrease after a long charge.

Even more serious is the constant forgetfulness. The built-in 16GB, in which the user has only less than 6GB, is too small. Necessary apps, an episode of the series, a pair of decent games, and just, now it’s time to put the memory SIM card in the basket instead of the other SIM. Overall, the “two-way” Galaxy A3 (2017) doesn’t have to live up to its expectations. The maximum allowed microSD size is 256 GB. Compare the performance of A3 (2017) with other smartphones in the benchmark. The higher the result, the better.

Excellent front & good main camera

The 13-megapixel camera on the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) delighted us with a quick launch by double-clicking on the home button and easy-to-use interface. Everything you need is always at hand, with a manual layout and a simple slider that allows you to lighten or deepen the frame quickly. This is called exhibition compensation.

During the day, in the evening, and rooms with artificial light, automation works great. The smartphone focuses faster (although the A5 and A7 are more pronounced in this regard due to the AF phase), there is no loss of white balance, the frames are quickly saved in memory. In short, it’s easy to take pictures. There is only one problem: in some places, the images look a bit blurry. When viewed on a computer, I want to go to Photoshop and turn on the focus macro.

With HDR

When it comes to shooting at night, things get depressing. Autofocus slips and gets lost, details fall, there is a lot of noise. It is best to go into manual mode and compensate for automatic errors with your knowledge of shooting parameters. Video can only be recorded in Full HD, but a modest processor can hardly pull anything else. It would help if you did not play the operator at night, but you can during the day.

The important thing is to hold the smartphone firmly, drive it easily, not remove it while walking. There is no optical stability. To summarize the main camera, the impressions are as follows. Pictures of the Galaxy A3 (2017) are better than the cheap Meizu and Xiaomi, but even worse than some competitors’ smartphones. Of the more budget alternatives, the most interesting is the Honor 6X. You can also take a look at the Sony Xperia XA.

Image quality is high there, but automation is poor. A price comparison can also compete well with the A3 (2017) in Huawei Nova Selfies. By the way, about self-portraits. They are good. The 8-megapixel front camera is surprising in normal light. Sophistication, detail, colorful display – everything is in perfect order. Corrections should only be made to reduce autofocus. It lasts longer, charges faster

The smartphone has a 2350 mAh battery inside, but you don’t have to be afraid of such a meager capacity. The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) does its fair share of charging on average or over 1.5 days in economy mode. Impressed by the combination of a cheaper processor and a lower resolution AMOLED screen. This is especially evident in the mono test. Full HD video with maximum brightness, the smartphone can rotate for 19.5 hours. Our favorite extraordinary arcade game, Subway Surfers, drains the battery in about 7 hours with full brightness.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) battery life is visible in minutes. Compared to competitors and record holders, all three new A-Series smartphones, including the A3, are equipped with USB Type-C connectors and the way to unity! Fast charging is advertised on the A5 and A7, while the A3 does not support technology that does not prevent the device from fully charging from 0 to 100% in 1.5 hours.

Overview

The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) is an interesting smartphone. So far, no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange. Ugly rubber bricks of unknown brands do not count. These are odd products. However, at a price of 23,000 rubles, this phone should be almost an ideal compact “average.” The situation is different: there is a weak fill, lack of memory (only 16 GB, of which only 6 are free) and a hybrid slot, a granular screen, and an incorrect fingerprint reader.

Does it make sense to replace the A3 (2016) with the new model? In my opinion, only if you really want to start using the Samsung Pay service. Their endorsement was published in A3 (2017). Even if you like to take selfies, it can be justified – the selfie camera is good here. Water safety is not a serious reason for upgrading, but perhaps everyone here has their own opinion.

If you’ve read our updated reviews Galaxy A5 and A7 for 2016, you’ll love Samsung There is nothing new in the design of the Galaxy. A3 (2016) If you do not take into account the difference in size, the appearance is the same. Who can only rejoice in this matter? And you can enjoy the metal, in the absence of which you are very sorry about the Galaxy S3, S4, and S5, and Gorilla Glass 4, which covers both the front and back panels of the smartphone. Why this approach is good: The phone looks expensive, fancy, real, etc., according to the list of places to glorify.

Remarkably, this is indeed the case. The gold of Galaxy A3 (2016) that we got in gold looks very, very good. Thematically speaking, it is perfect. Galaxy A3 (2016) Black – Black, Galaxy A3 (2016) Pink – Pink, and Galaxy A3 (2016) White – White have also been launched. And real metal pleasantly cools the hand.
